Character customization is an option available for all players. Customization comprises of roleplay names, character profiles, clothing made by individual designers, body types provided by ROBLOX, hairstyles, skirts, heels, faces, wings, and accessories created by the Royale High team and its player base.

Whenever the player goes into Dress Up mode, an animation will play with the player holding a mirror up to their face, and a symbol will appear over the player's head to indicate that the player is changing. Players can also click the eye button on the lower right to hide other players while changing.

Free Customizations

Animations

Players are able to use any animation package that can be found in the Roblox catalog, as well as a few custom animation packs not usually found within the Roblox catalog, such as the Popstar and Ice Skater packages.

Crown

Upon first joining the game, every player gets a default crown of a random color. Every 2 levels, players were able to spin the Gem Wheel for a chance to get a gem of varying shape and color, used for decorating their crown. Every 10 levels, players were able to spin the Crown Wheel for a new crown. The ability to gain new crowns and gems has been removed. The reason for this removal is currently unknown.

Hairstyles

All hairstyles are available to players. The player can also change the color of their hair. The free options include blonde, golden blonde, natural red, red, light brunette, dark brunette, dark gray, deep black, blue, cyan, green, pink, purple, and white. On November 8, 2019, an option was added to wear "bangs". These add hair on the front of your face. The color of the bangs depends on what the player's hair color currently is. Hovering over a hairstyle or bangs will display the creator who made them.

The "120+ New Hair Colors + GLOWING Hair Pass!" gamepass, which costs 50 Robux, gives players more hair colors to choose from; as it unlocks the ability to use the "More Colors!" section to view the additional hair colors. These can be filtered by the following:

  • Blonde
  • Red
  • Orange
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Purple
  • Pink
  • Brown
  • Black
  • White
  • Ombre
  • Multi-color

At some point in June 2019, players with the gamepass mentioned above were able to access glowing hair colors on a limited amount of hair colors. If there is a small circular image on the bottom right of a hairstyle window, then it can become a glowing hair color.

Outfits

The player can choose from a variety of outfits for either gender. When hovered over, the outfit box will display the creator(s) of the outfit. Categories include:

  • Outfit

  • Sleep

You can search for outfits by clicking the search button on the top left corner of the outfit menu.

Name

All players can choose to have a Roleplay Name or keep their Roblox username. If you want to change the color of your name, you need the paintbrush pass. For names, Color 1 is the base color of the name, and Color 2 is for the dots in your speech bubble, or for gradient/outline effects.

Alternatively, players can simply click the "Wear" button on the Outfit's page on the menu.

Outfits can have their names changed, be overwritten, or completely deleted.

Trivia

  • There is a small chance that, when a skirt is recolored, any equipped heels may glitch. To correct this, take off the heels and re-equip them. The same can happen with the mermaid tails, where the legs can glitch through/the tail continuously moves even while not underwater. To fix this, re-equip the tail.
