Character customization is an option available for any player in Royale High. Whenever the player goes into Dress-Up mode, a symbol will appear over their head to indicate that they are changing. Players can also click the eye button to hide other players while they are changing.

Free Options
Animations
Players are able to use any animation that can be found in the Roblox catalog, and some that are created by Royale High developers.
Crown
Every player gets a default crown.
Every 2 levels, the player can spin the Gem Wheel for a chance to get a special gem that they can place on their crown in any desired location. Every 10 levels, the player gains a chance to spin the Crown Wheel for the base of their crown to change color.
Hairstyles
All hairstyles are available to the player. The player can also change the color of their hair. The free options include blonde, golden blonde, natural red, blue, red, cyan, light brown, green, dark brown, pink, black, purple, deep black, and white.
The 'More Colors!' game pass requires 49 Robux. It gives players 120+ more hair colors to choose from. If a player has the game pass, they can use the More Colors section to view the additional hair colors, which can be filtered by the following:
- Blonde
- Brown
- Ombre
- Multi-color
- Green
- Red
- Orange
- Blue
- Pink
- White
- Purple
Glowing hair colors were released in June 2019. On some hair thumbnails, there is a button at the bottom left corner which means there is a glowing version of the hairstyle. However, only players with the "More Colors!" gamepass can use glowing hair colors. Although, the original More Colours! hair colours are still available. To access the glowing hair, you must click the button with a picture of a girl with glowing aqua hair in the corner.
Outfits
The player can choose from a variety of outfits for either gender. The options have both pants and shirt options, giving the player the ability to mix and match. When hovered over, the outfit box will display the creator(s) of the outfit. Categories:

Bio
The player could write about their own Royale High character. There are the following options:

The player could edit each option, but they are only allowed to edit the color of the text without the paintbrush game pass. With the paintbrush game pass, the player is allowed to customize their bio’s background color, box color, and text color.
Face
The player can edit their face/makeup in Royale High with lots of options. There are several categories of options for makeup:

Body Types
The player can edit their body type for their character. There are several categories of options for body types. A few bodies are made by some Royale High players.

Purchasable items
Wings
Wings are animated accessories, they flap every few seconds. Some of them give off particles or special effects. There are several categories of wings:

- Xtra Elementals
- Sailor Scout
- Water
- Nature
- Fire
- Light
- Dark
Some wings are only available during a certain period of time, mostly during holidays. The bold categories above are limited wings. Other than the bold categories, there are also Halloween and Autumn wings.
Non-limited wings' prices range are from 100 diamonds to 20,000 diamonds.
Heels
Some heels change the players' legs to a slim leg model with no knee joints, and some heels change the height of players and let the player keep their original legs. The heels' prices range are from 2,000 diamonds to 36,500 diamonds. Seasonal heels may cost more diamonds.
Effective May 2019, the newer heels and boots can also be customized using the designs.
Skirts
Varying 3D skirts are available. Their prices range are from 2,000 diamonds up to 50,000 diamonds. The newest skirt is Midnight Madimoiselle which is only available to players who have the Special Fabric Designs Gamepass. Other then that, the newest skirt that is purchased with diamonds is Pleated Skirt, which costs 5,500 diamonds. The newest skirt that is most likely to be seasonal is the Sparkly Sarong, which is available for 15,000 diamonds.

Mermaid Tails
Mermaid tails' prices range are from 300-12,000 diamonds and are helpful in swimming.
When a mermaid tail is added to the player's avatar, their current clothes disappear. If the player removes the tail by hiding it, their clothes are replaced with their usual Roblox avatar's clothes. Players can change their clothes after applying the tail to their outfit.
Mermaid tails give off water splash particles whenever players walk, swim or fly around.
Limited items
Halloween 2018
During the Halloween event, limited accessories can be bought with candies. One candy was equal to three diamonds.
Earrings: Arachnofabulous (100 candies, 300 diamonds)
Hats: Magical Witch (1,250 candies, 3,750 diamonds ), Vampire Crown (2,500 candies, 7,500 diamonds ) Nocturnal Kitty Ears (10,000 candies, 30,000 diamonds)
Sleeves: Goth Lolita Sleeves (3,500 candies, 10,500 diamonds )
Bags: Kitty Crossbody (5,000 candies, 15,000 diamonds )
Hand Items: Kitchen Accident (500 candies, 1,500 diamonds)
Christmas 2018
During the Christmas event, limited accessories can be gained by opening presents. To get a present, players had to put down cookies, which cost 300 diamonds each to make.
Hats: Santa Hat, Light-up Antlers, and Cozy Earmuffs
Neck items: Shy Scarf, Winter Fashion shawl, Ribbon necklace, and Fur Collar
Back items: Candy Cane swords and billowing cape
Earrings: Wish upon a star earrings

2019 Valentines' Day
Hats: Sailor Hat with Bow(7,000 Diamonds) and Magical Hair Ribbon(7,000 Diamonds)
Glasses: Crazy-In-Love Glasses (3,500 Diamonds) and Translucent Heart Sunglasses (3,500 Diamonds)
Bags: Love Me Forever Handbag (8,000 Diamonds) and Aphrodite's Shoulder Bag (12,000 Diamonds)
Hand Items: Cupid's Bow and Arrow (13,500 Diamonds) and Elegant Parasol (52,000 Diamonds)
Other: Giant Teddy Bear (8,000 Diamonds) and TEDDYZILLA (15,000 Diamonds)
Transformations
Players can create outfits and they can change to that outfit immediately by clicking the wear button or typing the outfit name in the chat.
Transformations only occur when players type the outfit name in the chat. 2 effects can be selected at most and shown during the transformation.
If a player wants to update an outfit, they can click 'Overwrite'.
